NEW SITE

Recently, due to my lack of comprehension regarding the technical terminology involved with working out these blog pages, I managed to lock myself completely out of my site. I have as of a few moments ago, established another page called Vicki Lynn's Creations at the following URL:

http://vickilynncreations.blogspot.com/

I have already linked it back to this page and one of the subpages, so if you are looking to see what creative projects I am doing I will post them here. And my commentary on life, love and whattiz's will be addressed on the new site. If you are interested in following any or all of the above just note that at the appropiate box and we should be good to go.

ESTY website

The other projectt that has kept me busy for the past several months is setting up a shop on the Esty web page. The link above should led you there. I don't have the full contingent of the items I have made that are for sale, but it is a start, and I will be adding to it on a regular basis.

If there are any items you see here on the Blog page that don't show up on Esty, please feel free to inquire about them and I will see what I can do for you..

Welcome to 2009!

I always feel so guilty when I look back and see what hasn't been done with this blog page, and I do apologize to those of you who make the effort to check in once and awhile!

It's been a busy year (2008) with foot surgery that kept me away from the machine for quite awhile (hence the huge amount of jewelry that has been produced). I did get two significant pieces done. The first one is Christopher's second dragon quilt. He helped design it when we were together in 2007 and probably would have helped me make it were he not living out of state! The finished photos are listed on the art quilts page. This piece ended up being nearly a double sized bed quilt by the time we got it all together. However, it took right up to my deadline (his birthday in August) so it didn't get much exposure.

The other piece I was able to tackle was Ron's birthday gift of a quilted eagle called, Lucky Break. I missed the deadline for the show I had hoped to put it in, but no matter...we have other things to do! The image is on the "quilts" page.

I really loved the freedom my quilts are coming around to. Joan Colvin has gotten to be my biggest inspiration! In fact, one of my friends introduced me to her book remarking how much her work looked like mine. What I saw was how much Joan's work went into the direction I was trying to go to. Whoooo whooo! And yet, Joan's book wasn't a hard and fast, "this is how you do it, start to finish". I have been able to glean new concepts with each item I have done, and really don't expect to see the "end" anytime soon. Ok.
Here's a little peek at the close up!
